"Innovation is often met with doubt and

hesitation, and my vision for Ramadan fashion was no exception. But the rise of Kaftans has proven that when you believe in your ideas and persevere, you can create something truly remarkable."

How did you become interested in fashion design?

Back when I was a young lady, I used to wear ready-made Kaftans, which in their traditional form have long sleeves and are heavy. I wouldn't say I liked it, so I cut the sleeves off, and added some fabric on the side to make it look like a day dress. This way, I had the comfort of the Kaftan with the look of a dress. Even though the older people did not like it back then, the younger generation appreciated my idea and wanted to wear it as I did. Believing in myself led me to start a small, exclusive business.

What is your most outstanding achievement as a designer?

My most significant achievement as a designer is that my designs are valued and in demand in such a competitive market. I started my journey by modifying traditional Kaftans to suit my style. This kind of creativity was appreciated by the younger generation and led to the launch of my first collection in 2002. Since then, I have created one collection yearly to sell it during Ramadan.

Can you tell us more about your inspiration for your designs?

I draw inspiration from my travels along the Silk Road and my love for vintage style. I love timeless, classic, and vintage designs, and my designs reflect that.

How do you stay relevant in the competitive fashion industry?

On sustainability and creating timeless, classic designs not tied to trends. My designs are timeless and classic, reflecting my love for vintage styles. I draw inspiration from my travels along the Silk Road, which gives my designs a unique and global perspective. I also focus on sustainability and creating plans not tied to trends, which sets my brand apart from others in the market. I also constantly explore new ideas and materials to keep my designs fresh and exciting.

How important is it to you to support sustainable fashion?

It's essential to me. I love India, and I get my fabrics from there, and we focus on sustainable materials. It's not just about creating beautiful designs but also about doing it ethically and sustainably.

Can you describe your design process?

My design process starts with inspiration from my travels or vintage styles. I then sketch my ideas and work with my team to develop the patterns and fabrics. We also do fittings to make sure the designs are comfortable and flattering. It's a collaborative process that involves a lot of attention to detail.

What advice would you give to aspiring fashion designers?

I recommend creating and trying their best because it is worth it if they enjoy the process. They should try mastering what they’re good at. Create your magic! Also, keep trying new things until you find what you like. Then you should stick to it, stay consistent, and grow in that art or discipline. There is no point in copying others. Instead of following the trend, create your own. Creativity is not a competition. Everyone is different, and we all have something beautiful to give to the world. I would encourage young individuals to create and try their best because it is worth it as long as they enjoy the process. Staying consistent and disciplined is the key to the process.
